Riedel fracture
DEFINITION
- A set of secondary shear fractures oriented at an angle of 10-15° (R or synthetic Riedel shear/fracture) and 75-80° (R' or antithetic Riedel shear/fracture) to the main shearing plane, oriented in the direction of shearing (modified from Ramsey & Huber, 1987; Mandl, 2010).
