Feature of Interest Type
GA's Features of Interest. FOIs are features (so a representation of a real-world object) that carry properties which are observed. FOIs can be either domain features (aka sampled features), e.g. 'Murray River', or a sampling feature, e.g. 'water gauge X' at the Murray River. GA's list of FOIs are derived from GA's internal databases that contain many thousands of features of interest to GA. Samples within GA's main systems are alsways associated with FOIs.
