  • Conducting research into marine environments and the physical geography of seas. Studying interactions between oceans, continents, atmosphere and biosphere. Providing scientific advice on the sustainable use of coastal and ocean resources, and the impact of climate change. Analysing waves, currents, tides, ocean temperatures, salinity and acoustic properties. Includes oceanographic data collection, such as drilling and mapping of sea floor geology, and consultancy services in support of maritime activities.
