Lithological classification of rocks on maps of the Geological Survey of Austria

| DESCRIPTION |
Comprises lithologies of consolidated and unconsolidated rocks, which are classified according to their modal composition or grain size. The classification of igneous and polygenetic (metamorphic and fault-related) rocks follows the recommendations of the IUGS subcommissions on the systematics of igneous and metamorphic rocks. Established international standards are used for sedimentary rocks. Colour code according to the INSPIRE Data Specifications for Geology (http://inspire.jrc.ec.europa.eu/).
